I and Thou (1-1)

The world created by relationship.

“To man the world is twofold, in accordance with the twofold nature of the primary words which he speaks.

The attitude of man is twofold, in accordance with the twofold nature of the primary words which he speaks.

The primary words are not isolated words but combined words.

The one primary word is the combination I-Thou.

The other primary word is the combination I-It; wherein without a change in the primary word he or she can replace it.

Hence the I of man is also twofold.

For the I of the primary word I-Thou is a different I from that of the primary word I-It”

Martin Buber

…. And we are falling more and more into materialism and objectification of I-It… In Zagreb cathedral today I was surrounded by a crowd of photographing tourists. They had no experience I-Thou – of the amazing 1300 year old human space – they were busy hunting the concrete materiel memory of the print of a photo. Let’s join to fight the visualisation/image fixation which makes a second hand experience out of fresh raw intimate dangerous contact each to each and to nature and to spirit
